Interview w/ U.S. Army Chaplain

Ira Glass had a This American Life episode a number of weeks back, called “The Ten Commandments”, with a chaplain that serves the U.S. Army. I appreciated what he had to say though I disagreed with him a lot (as did Ira Glass). This is a ‘bonus’ audio clip that was released after the episode aired; I thought it was interesting. They discuss the idea of Christianity being peace focused and what that means for a chaplain that goes into battle with an army.

I especially like what he says about questions and the most effective responses to the ones that you don’t know the answers to.

  1. i appreciate him being honest about not knowing all the answers…about not necessarily knowing how a God of peace fits into war, but he felt the importance of his place serving soldiers anyways…things always seem different when you’ve lived them

oh, and your sisters just might be talked into an early leave from NY…at least one might…and that one is driving, so start sucking up now…compliments and presents are welcome ;)
