Cure for cancer
So it looks like scientists in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada have come up with a possible solution for Cancer. It seems to be a matter of turning on the Mitochondria in the cancer cells. The Mitochondria is the part of the cell that tells the cell that, if abnormal, to self distruct; a process called apoptosis. For a while now we have always thought that when the Cancer takes over the cell they kill the mitochondria. Using this (unpatented) drug, dichloroacetate (DCA), we can re-awaken the mitochondria. Upon receiving the mitochondria, the cells see that they are abnormal and say, ‘shit’. They then self destruct. DCA has been used for years on other metabolic disorders, mostly on children, so we know it to be safe.
This drug is also not patented which is good because it means that it would be dirt cheap to make and buy. The problem is, no pharmeceutical companies are going to put any money into researching this drug because they can’t make any money on it. Research on the drug will have to be funded by schools, charities, government, and donations.

Who is this person with all these biological terms? Very interesting topic too. You never cease to amaze me.
