Band Design
two things in this post: 1) Band design, 2) Good music.
So we have been getting razzed by Pat our bartender to get him generic posters for upcoming shows. Such a poster would posess a nice little do-hickey something that represents us, with an At: ____________ and a Time:___________ at the bottom that could be filled in with sharpie. The At and Time I have no problem with. But for those of you that know ATP (aka. 1K Plat, 1000 Plateaus, One Thou Plateaus, and for some that traverse the morris sidewalk “A Thousand Plateas”) and their music, what kind of design would you think encompasses who they are. I am thinking two main ideas. One a very digital look, artistic illustrator/photoshop type stuff, or extremely organic; where i try my hand at drawing things, scan them in and then tweak them in photoshop. Let me know what you would like to see come from the thousand plateaus. I plan on posting some comps that we can talk about and critique 
2) Even though this is the second point, I cannot emphasize how important this is. I think I have found the best album (so far) for 2007. I don’t know how many people have listened to the new Mice Parade album… Mice Parade – Mice Parade (2007). Now unfortunately I cannot claim to know of Mice Parade from before this album (apparently this is their seventh release). IT IS AMAZING! I am only on track 5 and LOVE IT! It is absolutely who I would want to be. I don’t know the genre for it… I would venture something like folk/electronica/percussionist-post-rock. All of those seem to contradict themselves, but somehow i feel like it works. Let me know if you have a chance to hear it if you think it falls under something different.
